Cricket has been played on Hartley’s picturesque ground for more than 70 years and during the past decade the section has gone from strength to strength. Two excellent squares facilitate Kent League cricket on Saturdays for the 1st and 2nd XIs and Kent Regional League cricket for the 3rd and 4th XIs.

The 1st XI has been particularly successful in recent years, winning the Kent Premier League title at the first attempt in 2008, and again in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016. Since the 2nd XI gained promotion to the Premier division of its competition in 2013, it has finished no lower than 4th, being runners-up in 2016 and 2018. On Sundays the Club plays friendly, but competitive, cricket which is aimed at developing our younger players, while a midweek fixture list sees friendly fixtures played both home and away.

Colts fixtures are also organised and are encouraged with regular coaching sessions by ECB qualified coaches, utilising our own outdoor net facilities. Our ECB-endorsed “All Stars” programme aimed at soft-ball cricket for 4-9 year olds is also proving to be highly successful.

As a Club, we are always looking to upgrade our facilities and we have recently purchased a new roller, along with new sight screens and roll-on covers for the main square.

New players are always welcome, as are anyone interested in umpiring or scoring for one of the teams. A warm welcome is extended to all.
